ABOUT US

Communities for Sustainable Monterey County is a 501(c)3 California Public Benefit corporation.

OUR MISSION

Our Mission is to help our communities equitably implement sustainable and regenerative practices to slow and adapt to climate change.

OUR VISION

We envision a future in which individuals, businesses, and policymakers work collaboratively to create a sustainable, equitable, and resilient Monterey County, safeguarding the health of our environment and the resources needed for current and future generations.

OUR STRUCTURE

Communities for Sustainable Monterey County is an inclusive and responsive organization committed to meeting the evolving needs of our region. As we work toward regenerative and sustainable practices, we organize our efforts around four interconnected Practice Areas that bring together residents, partners, projects, and community action across Monterey County.

Green Living, Waste Reduction, Food and Soil Health, and Nature Restoration support emerging initiatives, strengthen partnerships, and provide a shared knowledge base for countywide implementation. Building a more connected, resilient, and collaborative network for climate action is central to our mission.

With the support of over 6,000 community members and an average of 9,000 volunteer hours each year, we advance practical, community-driven solutions through our four Practice Areas.
