Join Sustainable Seaside, the City of Seaside, and a host of community partners in celebrating Seaside’s 13th Annual Earth Day event! We’re celebrating Earth Day to raise awareness about the importance of protecting our planet and we hope to inspire action towards a greener, more sustainable future.
It’s happening on Sunday, April 21, from 1 pm to 4 pm, on the Seaside City Hall grounds. Electric Vehicle Test Drive/Ride/Display Show
Test drive a fleet of electric vehicles at the Sustainable Seaside Earth Day Event. This is a one-stop shop to check out a variety of EVs, talk to our staff about purchasing an EV, and learn about charging. Local dealerships have generously added their EVs to our line up, including Tesla, Chevy, Volkswagen, and Nissan. You can also chat with EV owners at our booth to get their tips on everything from mileage to charging stations.

Organically Grown Tomato Starts
Take home some tomato plants for your home garden. Several varieties have been selected for hardiness in our Seaside / Central Coast growing zone. Suggested (optional) $2 donation per plant.
Tree Planting Demo and Tree Giveaways
The City of Seaside has launched the second year of their Tree Giveaway program to raise awareness about the benefits trees provide and to increase the local tree canopy in Seaside. A tree planting demonstration will be presented on the City Hall Lawn, presented by Beth Rocha, certified arborist.
Seaside residents and businesses that can provide suitable tree planting conditions are eligible to receive one (1) tree and one (1) bag of fertilizer, free of charge.
3rd Annual Trashion Fashion Show
In celebration of Seaside’s 2024 Earth Day on Sunday, April 21, 1 pm – 4 pm, the public was invited to create and model a wearable work of art in our 3rd Annual Trashion Fashion Show.
Designs must be made of at least 90% recycled or re-purposed materials. Creative resources include throw-away items such as newspapers, chip bags, water bottles, old VHS tapes, and CDs, etc. Thrift stores provided a great opportunity to find cool clothing and accessories. Individuals and groups were encouraged to coordinate a skit to model their outfits to their favorite music.
Seaside Mayor Pro Tem Dave Pacheco will emcee.
