13th Annual Seaside Earth Day Celebration and Electric Vehicle Test Drive/Ride/Display Fair

Join Sustainable Seaside, the City of Seaside, and a host of community partners in celebrating Seaside’s 13th Annual Earth Day event!
It’s happening on Sunday, April 21, from 1 pm to 4 pm, on the Seaside City Hall grounds. The afternoon will feature an Electric Vehicle Test Drive/Ride/Display Fair, music by Palenke Arts youth ensembles, a Trashion Fashion Show, Children’s fun arts and crafts, over 25 information booths, demos, and a free raffle for eco-friendly prizes.
Test drive, or ride in, an electric vehicle, talk to EV owners about the benefits of driving an electric vehicle and learn about purchase incentives.
MUSICAL ENTERTAINMENT
Take home some organically grown tomato starts. Several varieties have been selected for hardiness in our Seaside / Central Coast growing zone. Suggested (optional) $2 donation per plant.
Tree Planting Demo and Tree Giveaways
The City of Seaside has launched the second year of their Tree Giveaway program to raise awareness about the benefits trees provide and to increase the local tree canopy in Seaside. A tree planting demonstration will be presented on the City Hall Lawn, presented by Beth Rocha, certified arborist.
Seaside residents and businesses that can provide suitable tree planting conditions are eligible to receive one (1) tree and one (1) bag of fertilizer, free of charge.
E-WASTE COLLECTION STATION
Bring your old, gently-used digital devices (laptops, tablets, cell phones, monitors, etc.) computer and cell phone e-waste to drop off at the Computer e-Waste Collection Station. The devices will be data-sanitized and refurbished by Loaves, Fishes, and Computers in Salinas, and made available for use by eligible individuals and non-profits in Monterey County. Unusable e-waste will be taken to the Hazardous Waste Disposal facility at Monterey County’s ReGen Monterey (Monterey Regional Waste Management District).
